Counter — Strike (CS) 1.6 Online is a multiplayer first-person shooter browser game based on Xash3D FWGS Engine and cs16-client which allowed to bring Counter — Strike game in version 1.6 into the browser. Counter Strike name is often shortened for simple “CS”.

Gameplay

Game design of Counter Strike game is based on a fight between team of terrorists with a team of counter terrorists unit in various city maps. The game allows playing various game modes determining a task which must be filled within a 150 seconds long match round. Once a player dies in the match, he becomes a spectator and waits for the start of the next round. First 5 seconds of every match allows adjustment of player’s inventory (equipment) by the use of a simple ingame shop..

  • Counter-Terrorists: Rescue the hostages
  • Terrorists: Prevent Counter-Terrorist unit from rescuing the hostages
  • Counter-Terrorists: Prevent Terrorists from bombing the target.
  • Terrorists: Destroy one of targets with a use of C4
  • Counter-Terrorists: Find the Terrorists and eliminate them
  • Terrorists: Hide from Counter-Terrorists
  • Terrorist: Defeat all Counter-Terrorists with traps on map
  • Counter-Terrorists: Survive and finish the map
  • Counter-Terrorists: Safely escort a VIP to the extraction zone.
  • Terrorists: Kill the VIP or all counter-terrorists
  Modes with a goal to Defeat all enemies:
  • Fight / Yard — Defeat all enemies with a use of any weapon
  • AWP / Sniper — Defeat all enemies with a use of a sniper rifle
  • 35HP — Defeat all enemies with a use of a knife
  • AIM — Defeat all enemies with a use of your aim skill
  • Grenades — Defeat all enemies with a use of grenades

  In-game economy

  Players are being rewarded for kills and achieved tasks (wins). Earned money can be spent for ammo and better equipment (weapons, helmets, vests) in a shop available under “B” key during the first few seconds of every match round.

  History of the Counter-Strike game

  The very beginning of the game Counter-Strike is dated to late 90s and very popular FPS game Half-Life which allowed creation and placing custom game modes into it. In 1999, a young student Min Lee released a game mode based on a fight of Terrorists with Counter Terrorists which reaped loud success in the community.
